California Cannabis Law to Restrict Edibles
California cannabis law could be changing. Again. Lawmakers have backed legislation to prohibit the sale of marijuana edibles shaped like a person, insect, animal or fruit.
This newest bill sent to Governor Jerry Brown this Thursday attempts to stop cannabis sweets from seeming appealing to children.
California cannabis law has been seeking to define standards for cannabis packaging to make sure it does not appeal to children. Governor Jerry Brown and his administration are currently working to establish standards and regulations on cannabis packaging.
This worry over packaging comes after California voted to legalize marijuana for adult use last year. The state is preparing to sell cannabis at state-licensed stores next year.
Critics of these changes to California cannabis law say that regardless of packaging, children will always be attracted to sweets.
