Lord Jones, the luxury edibles brand have announced they will be partnering with the boutique hotel group Standard International in 2018. Together, they will be opening a luxury dispensary in the lobby of the Standard Hollywood Hotel.
The well-known edibles brand is known for its brand of low dose THC and CBD sweets. They offer an array of treats, including gumdrops, caramels, chocolates, and chews. For the first time in American history, we’ll be able to visit a hotel-based luxury dispensary, just in time for recreational legalization on January 1.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, founder and chief executive Robert Rosenheck said, “We’ve been working on this for over a year, and we wanted to make the announcement first – to our knowledge, this will be the first hotel-based dispensary in the nation.”
The dispensary is planned for the ground floor of the luxury hotel in Hollywood. It will cater not only to hotel guests, but also Los Angeles locals.
Lord Jones is known for its focus on health and wellness. They have previously worked with the Hollywood Equinox Gym, inviting guests to use the brand’s cannabis-infused topicals to soothe sore muscles.
It is this approach that both the brand and the hotel are taking in presenting their collaboration to the public.
CEO and managing partner of Standard International, Amar Lalvani said, “cannabis is gaining enhanced relevancy as a key component of wellness, awareness, and discovery. The Lord Joes dispensary will provide the finest cannabis products available seamlessly integrated into the Standard experience.”
Could this be the future of hotel getaways? Package spa deals with a free trip to the luxury dispensary included? It seems the alcohol industry isn’t the only one looking to capitalize on the cannabis industry’s boom.
