10 Celebrities That Smoke Weed
Weed is no longer something underground. For years, the rich and famous have been using cannabis both medicinally and recreationally, and many have even been pretty outspoken about it. With that in mind, let’s tear down the curtain; let’s take a look at ten celebrities who smoke weed.
10 Celebrities That Smoke Weed
Ri-Ri is a big fan of cannabis. So much so, she was right at the cusp of launching her own designer brand of luxury weed back in 2015. And although the world will never get to smoke any MaRihanna, Rihanna remains one of the most open, proud and outspoken of all celebrity cannabis users. In fact, one look at her Instagram page and its clear just how much this good girl gone bad loves the herb.
Matthew McConaughey has been a long-time, notorios user of cannabis. In fact, many have claimed his imitable cigarette smoking in the series True Detective is a product of years of experience smoking joints. Back in 1999, McConaughey was even arrested after police were called to his property for substantial noise disturbance. On arrival, they proceeded to find the actor butt-naked playing the bongos, standing among a cornucopia of weed paraphernalia.

Miley is another well-known weed user. Throughout her relatively short time in the limelight, she’s been known to light-up on stage, sell hemp rolling papers at her live shows and to start her several of her sets wearing a pot-leaf leotard.
Brad Pitt, the world’s most famous boy-next-door, is one of Hollywood’s most prolific marijuana advocates. And while you might not think Brad Pitt would belong in a list of celebrities who smoke weed, it’s been claimed that his recent split from his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, is a product of his heavy reliance on the herb. Which, we guess, at least goes some ways to explaining why Pitt's characters are always hungry.

Lying neatly on our list directly under her ex-husband, Jennifer Aniston has been vocal about smoking weed on more than one occasion. Despite not indulging as deeply as her ex, Aniston has been known to put her love of blunts bluntly, stating “I enjoy cannabis” back in 2012.

Willie Nelson is one name on this list that should come as a surprise to nobody. Nelson has been an outspoken user of weed for decades and – in that time – he’s collected some serious experience. Seriously, you could learn a thing or two from Willie. And what’s more, with the legalization of cannabis in Colorado, Willie is one of the country’s most renowned ganjapreneurs: The country legend’s own weed company is growing by the day. What’s it called, you ask? Willie’s Reserve, of course.
Cameron Diaz is a long-term advocate for marijuana. She’s been using weed for so long, in fact, that Snoop Dogg was actually her dealer before either of them made it big.

Seth Rogan has stated on numerous occasions that the secret to his success is the thing at the center of the culture he likes to mock in his movies: Weed. Once admitting, ‘I smoke a lot of weed when I write,’ Seth Rogan claims that a little bit of weed removes the work out of movie making. And when he’s not busy making million dollar movies, he sits on the board of the National Organization for the Reform Law of Marijuana (NORML).
Morgan Freeman is one of the staunchest advocates for the federal legalization of cannabis. Being a long-term user of weed, Freeman has been using the drug to treat both fibromyalgia in his arm, as well as injuries sustained in a near-fatal car crash in 2008. Freeman has also been quoted numerous times in interviews stating, “Never give up the ganja,” “Legalize it across the board!” and, regarding his own personal administration of cannabis, “I’ll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it!”

Real Time host Bill Maher is a serious celebrity smoker. In fact, if you’ve ever watched Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, you will have noticed that a consistent theme is federal legalization of marijuana, as well as that time he lit up a joint on air. And this is no coincidence: Maher holds a seat on the board of the NORML alongside Seth Rogan, as well as a seat on the board of The Marijuana Policy Party.
