THCV or Tetrahydrocannabivarin is a cannabinoid which, until recently, has been found only in small concentrations in certain cannabis strains. Current research suggests promising medicinal therapies, including treatment of obesity and diabetes. At low doses, THCV acts as a CB1 antagonist, suppressing appetite and blocking the 'pleasure effect' of eating unhealthy foods. THCV also shows promise for it's anti-seizure properties. THCV seems to lower the seizure threshold in epilepsy patients, resulting in fewer seizures.
